Crail Pottery was established in 1965 by Stephen and Carol Grieve. Today it is run by their daughter Sarah, son Ben, his wife Jane and their son Timothy. Carol sadly passed away in 2019. Stephen continues to work and has no plans to retire – ever!

Crail Pottery is set around a beautiful courtyard in the heart of historic Crail. Crail is famed for it’s picturesque harbour, historic buildings with pantiles and crow stepped gables and Crail Pottery.

Crail Pottery produces a diverse range of stoneware, terracotta planters, raku and bright hand painted earthenware. Every piece is hand thrown on the wheel, decorated, glazed and fired here in our workshops.

As each pot is individually hand crafted, each has it’s own unique character. Part of this is the warm and friendly atmosphere of it’s home – Crail Pottery. We want you to experience this, and so we only sell directly from the Pottery.

We are proud to say that all our pots are “Hand made in Scotland” by the Grieve family. Visit our Pottery, see the workshops, browse in the showroom and relax in our secluded yard.
